The Better Back®, Pilates & Osteoporosis, was developed by Erica Walters, the owner of Change30 Movement and Pilates Fit Studio in Pewee Valley, and is based on her in-studio class format, where she has developed an entire series for Pilates & Osteoporosis as well as accommodating bad backs. 

Osteoporosis and most common back issues follow similar guidelines. Bad backs will typically get better by eliminating twisting and loaded flexion, and building strength while working on posture and good alignment of the body. Osteoporosis will always need to maintain guidelines of no loaded flexion and twisting to reduce the risk of fractures. Working to build bone strength, muscle strength, and improving posture and balance to reduce falls will be the greatest benefits to living with Osteoporosis.
